Meet Donette Woolston

Donette has lived in the Salt Lake area all her life. Her art journey began when she was a young dance student (and later teacher) with Virginia Tanner Creative Dance. It was there that she developed a deep appreciation of everything beautiful- from visual inspiration and music to the freedom of expressing heartfelt emotionsthrough movement.

When Donette entered junior high school, she taught herself how to play the guitar and sing because she wanted to join three of her boy friends in their folk singinggroup. It was there that her love of musical performance began. After many years of performing in various musical groups and choirs, raising four sons with her husband, Dennis, selling new home construction, actively serving in many church assignments, and spending hours on any pickleball court, Donette has slowed down just a “little” and has recently found her new creative voice – painting!

Because of her senior citizen status, she has given herself permission to not brand herself with one particular style. Using acrylics, she loves to paint her beautiful surroundings as well as other’s beautiful surroundings (mostly through shared photos). She also finds joy in creating expressive abstract paintings using fluid acrylic paints.

Donette loves life and the people who continually influence her in positive ways, especially her family. They are her biggest cheerleaders, and they will always embrace Donette’s two mottos, “It’s Never Too Late to Do the Right Thing” and “It’s Never Too Late to Paint!”
